Wifi Signal Strength Reduced Sharply. Aerial? - Internal Hardware - BleepingComputer

Yesterday morning all of a sudden sites were taking a long time to load, and then, when it was taking a long time to copy between this pc and another on the home network I twigged that the signal strength was somewhere between 1 and zero bars, when normally it’s 4 (ie max)

Tried moving the router into line of sight. Nope. Tried setting up an access point on my smartphone, so now it’s less than a meter away, and stlll just 1 or 2 bars.

So, is there some mystery setting? Or is it hardware (aerial?) which is just about working but not properly? Is it worth investing in a wifi usb key?
